My dear fellow Seychellois,
As we close the celebrations for the 50th Anniversary of our Independence, my heart is filled with immense pride and gratitude. Over the past days, our islands have come alive with an unwavering spirit of patriotism, celebrating 50 years of sovereignty and the enduring resilience of a people united by a deep love for our country.
Whether you joined the National Day Parade, participated in the Expo Jubilee, or celebrated within your communities, your enthusiasm made this Golden Jubilee truly memorable. You have reminded us all that the greatest strength of Seychelles is, and will always be, its people.
Together, we honoured the core values that have guided us over the past fifty years, unity, solidarity, mutual respect, and hope. These principles are beautifully embodied in our Jubilee theme, "Nou Pep, Nou Lidantite, Nou Desten" (Our People, Our Identity, Our Destiny). This theme reminds us that our identity binds us together, and our shared destiny calls upon us to continue building a stronger, more prosperous nation as a developing island state.
This milestone was a powerful reminder of the sacrifices of those who secured our independence, while reaffirming our shared responsibility to the generations that follow. Let us carry this deep sense of togetherness beyond this historical occasion. Let us continue to work hand in hand to protect our precious islands, care for one another, and foster our growing national spirit.
Thank you for proudly flying our flag, celebrating our identity, and demonstrating that the Seychellois spirit remains as resilient as ever. As we look toward the next fifty years, let us move forward with confidence and courage to build an even brighter future.
May God bless each and every one of you, and may God continue to bless our beloved Republic of Seychelles.
