Outgoing Korean Diplomat On Farewell Visit

March 22, 2011 -- The outgoing ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Seychelles, Mr Lee Han-Gon, yesterday congratulated Seychelles on its vital role in the fight against piracy and its stance on climate change in the region.

Mr Lee yesterday paid a farewell call on President James Michel at State House.

"We are ready to share our experience and capital with Seychelles, not only on piracy and climate change but also in other fields," Mr Lee told the national media after meeting President Michel.

He added: "We have a very good relationship with the Seychelles government, especially since Mr Michel's historic visit to my country in September 2009."

He said the signing of the bilateral air service agreement between the two countries in July last year was a milestone in the history of their relations.

Korea's ambassador to Seychelles is based in Nairobi.

Korea and Seychelles will be taking part in a joint committee meeting scheduled for this year.
