First Lady Visits Hospital On Children's Day

June 2, 2011 -- A special visit to the paediatric ward at Seychelles Hospital by First Lady Natalie Michel yesterday coincided with Children's Day.

Her visit was to bring joy and comfort to the  young patients on their special day.

Mrs Michel, who is also the chairperson of the Children's Homes Foundation (CHF), distributed gifts to the young patients.

CHF chief executive Noella Gonthier said the foundation has several projects to help bring more comfort to the sick children in hospital wards on Mahe and Praslin.

The projects, to be implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, include refurbishment of the wards, upgrading the facilities and re-decorating the wards to make them more colourful and friendly for the children.

In her Children's Day message on June 1, First Lady Michel asked the children to seize all opportunities, especially in education, made available to them.

"Learn well at school, listen well to the advice from your parents, teachers and other people who are helping you. This is how you will progress and succeed in life," said Mrs Michel in her message to the children.
