President James A Michel has sent a message of congratulations to the newly elected President of Singapore, Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam.

President Michel conveyed the commitment of the Seychelles government to continually build relations with Singapore as two small island states striving to achieve new heights of development.

"The Alliance of Small Island State (AOSIS) and the sub-grouping of Africa, Indian Ocean Mediterranean and South China Sea Islands (AIMS) group are the ideal platforms for us to work together to create a developmental environment more conducive to foster sustainability," said President Michel in the message.
