President Michel congratulates Sepp Blatter on his re-election as FIFA President

President James A. Michel has a sent congratulatory message to Mr. Joseph S. Blatter, known as Sepp Blatter, President of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), after his re-election. Mr. Blatter has another mandate of four years.

"It is with great pleasure that I join with so many others to offer you my warmest congratulations on your re-election as President of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). Your re-election testifies to the confidence of the global footballing community in your leadership qualities and an endorsement of your pledge to undertake comprehensive reforms within the organisation," said President Michel.

The President who is also the Patron of the Seychelles Football Federation (SFF), said that Seychelles share the same passion for this game, which he said, "underscores the importance of football in Seychelles and which imparts universal values of fair play and discipline to our youth. Since its establishment in 1979, the development of the SFF has created space for the exponential growth of football in our country. Its affiliation with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA in 1986 has only furthered its development."

Mr. Michel added that: "Seychelles fully embraces your vision to develop young sporting talent contributing to the wellbeing of the community as a whole.  During your new tenure of office, we look forward to the further development and invigoration of cooperation between one of the world's smallest football associations, the SFF, and the world's governing footballing body FIFA, as together we can continue to find innovative ways to develop sporting infrastructure to raise the profile of the sport in Seychelles. We remain certain that the special relationship that exists between Seychelles and FIFA will grow as does our passion for football."

President Michel took this opportunity to wish Mr. Blatter success during his tenure and best wishes in the tasks which lie ahead.
