President Danny Faure has sent a congratulatory note to the newly elected President of the Republic of Gambia, Mr Adama Barrow.

In his message President Faure said that Mr Barrow's victory reflected the faith that the people of Gambia have in his vision and commitment to ensuring prosperity and equal opportunity for all.

"As you embark upon your new responsibilities, I wish to assure you and the people of the Gambia of the the continued friendship of my Government and the people of Seychelles," said President Faure.

President Faure also looked forward to working with the new Gambian President to develop closer relations between the two countries and also to ensure greater peace and prosperity for the whole African continent.
