President Faure Receives members of the Grand Police Citizens’ Initiative at State House

President Danny Faure, this morning met with members of the Grand Police Citizens’ Initiative.

The aim of the meeting was to present to the President of the Republic, a petition signed by 5800 citizens of Seychelles in advocacy for the conservation and protection of Grand Police Bay in Takamaka.

In accepting the petition and letter from Mrs Sabiana Mancienne, Mr Tex Albert and Ms Tricia Pillay; the President commended the team for their act of citizenship. Absent overseas this week were Mrs Nanette Esparon PhD, and Ms Bee Cesar. The President also commended them for the pacific and positive manner in which they undertook to raise the issue with Government.

The President gave his commitment that the documents will be tabled in the next Cabinet meeting on the 31st of May, 2017.

The meeting was held in a very positive and promising atmosphere.
