President Faure takes HIV screening test on World AIDS Day

To commemorate World AIDS Day, President Danny Faure visited the Anse Royale Hospital this morning to take a rapid HIV test.

World AIDS day is celebrated on 1 December every year, and marks an opportunity for people around the world to unite in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with HIV, and commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness.

As he did last year, President Faure took the rapid HIV test. He was joined by Minister Jean-Paul Adam, Archbishop James Wong, CEOs, and police officers. Students from the University of Seychelles, School of Advanced Level Studies (SALS), and Seychelles Institute of Art and Design (SIAD) also took part in the testing.

President Faure was joined at the Health Centre by the Minister for Health, Mr Jean-Paul Adam, CEO of the Health Care Agency, Dr Danny Louange, CEO of National Aids Council, Dr Anne Gabriel, Special Advisor for Ministry of Health, Dr Lawrence Reginald, and Head Nurse at Anse Royale hospital, Mrs Telma Reginald. Also present was the Secretary of State for Cabinet Affairs, Mr Mohammed Afif.
