President receives Rotary International District Governor for Seychelles

President Danny Faure received the District Governor for Rotary International, Mr Manoj Vaghjee, accompanied by his wife Mrs Bina Vaghjee and Members of the Seychelles Rotary Clubs, at State House this morning.

President Faure welcomed Mr Vaghjee to Seychelles and expressed his appreciation for the exemplary work being done by the two Rotary Clubs in Seychelles; the Victoria and Coco de Mer Rotary Club, and their contribution to improving the quality of life of Seychelles' citizens.

The Rotarians present had the opportunity to discuss with the President some of their major projects for the year, primarily in relation to environment conservation and climate change and their efforts to launch a tree planting programme. They also discussed possibility of partnering with the Government and private sector to conceptualise and launch a Sea and Road Safety programme geared towards raising greater awareness and reducing the incidence of accidents.

The President welcomed the initiation of such projects and committed the government’s full support to working together to ensure positive outcomes that will benefit the country and its people.
