President Faure welcomes President of the Republic of Botswana

President Danny Faure received the President of the Republic of Botswana, His Excellency Mr Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, at State House this morning.

President Masisi is in Seychelles for a one-day official visit as part of his tour of SADC countries.  The tête-à-tête with President Faure was an opportunity for the two Heads of State to discuss opportunities to further enhance bilateral development and value added cooperation.

President Masisi was accompanied to State House by his delegation which included the Minister for International Affairs and Cooperation, H.E Hon. Mr Vincent T. Seretse, the Minister of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology, H.E Hon. Mr Ngaka Ngaka, the Minister of Basic Education, H.E. Hon Mr Bagalatia Arone, and the Minister of Environment, Natural Resources, Conservation and Tourism, H.E. Hon. Mr Tshekedi Khama.

President Masisi and his delegation also had a breakfast meeting earlier this morning with their counterparts from the Seychellois Cabinet of Ministers, where they discussed areas in which to further enhance relations between Seychelles and Botswana, particularly in the context of the proposed General Cooperation Agreement.

After his meeting at State House, President Masisi also visited the Botanical Gardens where he took part in a tree planting activity. President Masisi and his delegation left Seychelles this afternoon.
