President Faure visits National Council For Children

President Danny Faure this afternoon also visited the National Council for Children (NCC) as part of a series of visits to institutions to commemorate International Children's Day today.

He was welcomed at the NCC Headquarters Bel Eau by the Chairperson of the NCC Board, Dr Erna Athanasius, the Vice-Chairperson, Mrs Merida Delcy and the Chief Executive Officer of the NCC Mr Jean-Claude Matombe.

During the tour the President viewed the various facilities available at the Council which included the Training Coordinator Office, the Library, the Counsellor’s Office, the Administration Office, the Play Therapist and Psychologist Office and the Communication Room.

President Faure also have the opportunity to meet the Staff and was briefed on their respective roles and responsibilities as a team as well as the procedures and the collaborative mode of operation along with Key NCC Partners.

Addressing the staff, the President commended them for the important work they are doing as the leading institution in championing the interest of children, ensuring their protection and continuous advocacy. He urged them to remain consistent  and to continue being guardians and a voice for the Chlidren of Seychelles.

Following the tour of the facilities, President Faure attended a meeting with the NCC Senior Management to further discuss challenges, new actions and how the government can further support the council in its work.
