The President hosts ceremony for long-serving retirees

President Danny Faure received various groups of retirees from the public service at State House this morning, following their long years of commitment to their profession.

They were joined by the Chief Secretary and Head of Civil Service in the Office of the President, Ms Jessie Esparon, as well as the PS Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary Education Dr. Odile Decommarmond.

The retirees came from various sectors of Government, including education, health, employment, judiciary, social protection, culture and property management. Notable among the 18 retiring public servants were Ms Yvette Orphee and Mrs Monica Juliette who have served almost 47 years of their working life with the Supreme Court of Seychelles and the Social Affairs Department respectively.

During his address, the President thanked the retirees for their dedication and hard work as well as for their professional and loyal service to the people of Seychelles and Government. President Faure described the retirees as important role models to the community and an inspiration to the younger generation. He emphasized the need to always show respect for the senior citizens and vouched that government will continue to work to maintain stability so that they may enjoy their retirement in peace and harmony.

All retirees were presented with a token of appreciation by President Faure and had the opportunity to interact with work colleagues during a reception.
