New Korean Ambassador Accredited

The new Ambassador for the Republic of Korea to Seychelles, H.E Ambassador Lim Hoon-min, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Seychelles, Mr Danny Faure, in an Accreditation Ceremony held at State House this morning.

President Faure extended a warm welcome to H.E. Lim Hoon-min and congratulated him on his accreditation as the new Ambassador of Korea to Seychelles. During discussions, President Faure expressed the Seychelles’ satisfaction with the friendly relations that exist with the Republic of Korea and expressed his wish to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.

The President highlighted areas where Seychelles can partner with Korea to further deepen cooperation, such as the E-government, Blue Economy and capacity building of the police personnel.  The Head of State and Ambassador Lim Hoon-min also discussed existing and prospective bilateral cooperation in the field of fisheries, renewable energy, maritime security, aviation and military.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Ambassador Lim Hoon-min said the he will do his utmost, during his tenure, to bring tangible results in enhancing the cooperation ties in areas highlighted by the President.

Ambassador Lim Hoon-min is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Also present at the accreditation ceremony were the Acting Executive Head for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Selby Pillay; Chief of Protocol and Presidential Affairs, Mrs Jaqueline Moustache-Belle, Honorary Consul of Korea to Seychelles, Mr Conrad Benoiton and Desk Officer - International Relations, Ms Wendy Isnard, as well as Attachés at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Colonel Jung Seok Woo and Ms Jeongmi Heo.
