President Danny Faure visited the Housing Finance Company (HFC) yesterday afternoon, as part of his weekly visits to different institutions.

The President was welcomed to HFC by Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ronny Palmyre, along with the management and other officials from the organisation.

President Faure visited the various sections of HFC, including the Loans Department, Internal Audit Unit, Accounts section, IT section, Debt Recovery section, Building Inspectors section, Documentation Unit, and Customer Care Unit. During his visit, he spoke to various members of staff who were able to share their thoughts with him.

At the end of the visit, the President chaired a meeting with Mr Palmyre and his management team, where he was briefed on the various facilities HFC offers its clients, such as housing loans, land loans, home improvement loans, re-roofing schemes, house extension schemes and pensioners home improvement schemes.

The President was also briefed on the performance of HFC over the last 15 years and Mr Palmyre shared future projects which they wish to offer the public, as well as challenges they face.

The President conveyed his support to the staff of HFC, which commemorated fifteen years of existence on 1 October this year. He thanked the staff for their hard work and encouraged them to continue serving with integrity, passion, and enthusiasm.

“This is an essential institution. You are all working in an institution which not only deals with financial issues but provides a critical service. I know there are challenges, but you have a direct impact on the lives of our citizens. Your work allows you to improve the quality of their lives, and I am very happy with the work you are doing,” said President Faure.

Over the last 15 years, HFC has assisted more than 13 thousand people to build a home or carry out a renovation or house extension, totalling over 1.4 billion rupees.
