President Danny Faure yesterday assented the Constitutional Posts (Special Pension) Amendment) Act, 2018.

This legislation was introduced as a private members’ Bill and will provide pensions to persons who have served in a Constitutional post between 29th June 1976 and 5th June 1977.

The persons who will benefit from this amendment will be considered as having served a term in office despite the abrupt termination of their term of office during the mentioned period.
