New Ambassador for Finland Accredited

The new Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E Mr Erik Lundberg, presented his credentials to President Danny Faure during an accreditation ceremony held at State House this morning.

Following the accreditation, President Faure congratulated Ambassador Lundberg on his new role and described the ceremony as a stepping stone to further strengthen the excellent relations between Seychelles and Finland.

“This auspicious occasion reaffirms the strong importance our countries attach to our historical friendship, and is also a sign of our renewed commitment to elevate our bilateral collaboration to greater heights. I am certain that during your tenure you will further cement the solid relationship our countries have shared over the years,” said President Faure.

Discussions focused on potential areas of cooperation including exchanges in the educational sector, renewable energy investment, waste management and climate change resilience. There were noted as important areas in which bilateral ties could be developed and enhanced for the mutual prosperity of both nations.

Speaking to the press after the ceremony, Ambassador Lundberg described the long-standing relations between Seychelles and Finland as excellent and said that through his accreditation, he is ready to work to extend the current areas of cooperation.
