New Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Accredited

The new Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E Ambassador Le Huy Hoang, formally presented his credentials to the President of the Republic, Mr Danny Faure, during an accreditation ceremony held at State House this morning.

President Faure welcomed and congratulated Ambassador Hoang on the occasion of his accreditation as the new Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Seychelles and expressed his hope that the accreditation would further enhance relations between Seychelles and Vietnam.

“I am honoured to welcome you to Seychelles for this important occasion which reaffirms the commitments of our countries to deepen our bilateral cooperation. Seychelles and Vietnam share a cordial historical friendship and we are dedicated to build upon this foundation, through engagements in various areas, for the mutual benefit of our peoples,” said President Faure.

During discussions, the President and Ambassador Hoang discussed prospective avenues of cooperation in areas such as Trade and Commerce, enhanced cooperation opportunities for Small Businesses and Enterprises, as well as the Blue Economy and Fisheries.

Speaking to the Press after the accreditation, Ambassador Hoang described his meeting with the President as very positive and expressed his Government’s appreciation for the long-standing support and strong relations that exist between the two countries.

Also present at State House for the accreditation was the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and the Blue Economy, Ambassador Barry Faure, and members of the Vietnamese delegation.
