The President of the Republic of Seychelles, Dr. Patrick Herminie, has sent a message of condolence to His Excellency Mr. Pedro Sánchez, President of the Government of the Kingdom of Spain, following the devastating wildfires in the Province of Almería, which resulted in fatalities and the displacement of numerous residents.

In his message, President Dr Herminie, stated: 

“I was saddened to learn of the recent wildfires which ravaged the Province of Almeria, resulting in the loss of lives and mass displacement.

On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Seychelles, and in my own name, I extend our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to you and the people of Spain, and in particular, the families who have lost their loved ones in this tragedy. 

We offer our solidarity during this challenging time. We remain confident the nation will surmount this adversity and emerge more resilient.”
