President Faure meets with the Board of SNYC

President Danny Faure met with the Board of the Seychelles National Youth Council (SNYC) this afternoon. President Faure started the meeting by commending the Board for the good work they are doing in supporting the development of young people in Seychelles.

During the meeting, the Chairperson of the Board, Ms Myrsia Sifflore, expressed her appreciation on behalf of the members of the Board for the President making the time to meet with them. Ms Sifflore gave an appraisal of the performance of SNYC, on-going projects and projects that they wish to put in place for the betterment of young people in all districts.

In this context, the Board members also shared with President some of their aspirations for their mandate. They also discussed their constraints, which includes a lack of SNYC offices on the inner islands, and inadequate budget and youth workers, among others.

President Faure shared his thoughts on what the vision for SNYC should be, and how to move the organisation forward.  He encouraged them to use social media as a medium to reach young people and effectively create awareness of their services. By doing so, he urged them to ensure their programmes leave no young people behind.

Present at the meeting in addition to the Chairperson and Board members was the CEO for SNYC, Miss Penny Belmont.
