President receives Members of the Praslin Business Association

President Danny Faure received members of the Praslin Business Association (PBA) for a meeting at State House this afternoon, as part of his regular consultation with members of the Praslin business community representing various key sectors on the island.

On behalf of the Association, the Vice-Chairperson, Mr Paul Rouillon, presented the President with an update and overview of the Praslin business landscape at present, Progress Report on previous discussions, decisions and actions following last meeting held, as well as new issues and challenges affecting the Praslin business community.

Pertinent matters raised included challenges in sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, human resource and manpower, vocational training and empowerment programmes for young Praslinois, and priority for Praslin based contractors and small entrepreneurs to benefit from local business opportunities.

The President commended the Association for the good work they are doing for their community and continuous engagement with the government. The President also reaffirmed his commitment to continue working closely with the Association whilst finding solutions for key challenges raised together. 

Speaking to the press after the meeting, the Secretary of the Association, Mr Adrian Uzice, described the meeting with the President as very positive and open, and hoped for improved coordination and action to address challenges and issues raised.
