President meets with NATCOF Executive Committee

President Danny Faure received members of the executive committee of the National Consumers Forum (NATCOF) for a meeting at State House this morning.

Celebrating 25 years since their creation this year, the meeting was an opportunity for the NATCOF members to brief the President on the overall status of their operations as an NGO as well as discuss some of the pertinent challenges being encountered.

The meeting was also a chance to discuss possible new strategies to re-energise the NGO in further advancing its mission to promote and protect the social and economic interests of Seychellois consumers.

President Faure thanked the NATCOF team for their contributions throughout their long years of existence and urged them to work more closely with their partners, engage in targeted sensitisation to increase visibility of their work, and adopt new innovative strategies to raise greater awareness of consumer education.

On their part, the committee members present thanked the President for the continuous support and for making the time to meet with them, a gesture they said has provided them with renewed vigour to further advance their mandate to educate the public on how to become responsible consumers, and empower them to protect and exercise their rights and responsibilities.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, the Chairperson of NATCO,F Mr Freddy Lesperance, confirmed that NATCOF will be holding a Press Conference soon to share various new projects and strategies to be implemented in line with their mandate.
