President Faure presented with the first copy of “Tropical plants in Seychelles”

President Danny Faure welcomed Ambassador Francesca Alexandra Azaïs at State House this morning, who presented him with the first copy of “Tropical plants in Seychelles”. The artistic catalogue covers a selection of fruits and plants found in the Seychelles.

During the meeting, President Faure thanked Ambassador Azaïs for the copy and congratulated her for yet another inspiring initiative. “You have been able to show the people of Seychelles and the world all we have on our beautiful islands. People come here and they see the natural beauty, but you have gone one step further by recording this through artistic impressions, and I would like to thank you for this,” said the President.

It took Ambassador Azaïs four years to draw and finalise the book of 120 pages, one that she said is dedicated to the people of Seychelles. The publication of the book was funded by the Department of Culture and the official launching of the book is scheduled for the end of the year.

Apart from being the Ambassador for the Order of Malta to Seychelles, Mrs Azaïs has a passion for art and she has been creating paintings depicting Seychelles since 1996.
