President Wavel Ramkalawan has sent a message of appreciation to Praslinois Mr Herbert Lesperance and commended him for his act of bravery which prevented a visitor from drowning.

"It takes courage to put one's life at risk in order to save another person. I wish to sincerely commend Mr Lesperance for his act of bravery that saved a life of a visitor. On behalf of Seychelles and on my personal behalf we say thank you. I take this opportunity to appeal to all Seychellois to protect our visitors against any danger at all times. After all their contribution to our economy is most vital for our wellbeing.”
