New Canadian high commissioner

The new high commissioner of Canada to Seychelles, Mr Alexandre Lévêque, presented his credentials to President James Alix Michel at State House yesterday.

He later called on Vice-President Danny Faure.

High commissioner Lévêque, said Seychelles and Canada shared common links of friendship as members of the Commonwealth and La Francophonie organizations.

President Michel and HC Lévêque, discussed trade, investment, and the emergence of Seychelles in the oil and gas sector, among other issues.

Canada is host to an important Seychellois community.

The high commissioner noted that the presence of the Seychellois community in Canada and other common factors binding the two countries could be harnessed to bring increased prosperity to their peoples.

Mr  Lévêque, is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
