Land Marine Limited donates to the COVID-19 Relief Fund

The President of the Republic, H.E Wavel Ramkalawan received a donation amounting to USD 700 thousand contributed by Land Marine Limited. The cheque was formally handed-over to the President by the Chairman of the Board of Land Marine Ltd, Mr Glenny Savy accompanied by the Managing Director of the organisation, Mr. Hughes Adam at State House, yesterday.

This donation is by far the largest contribution made to the COVID-19 Relief Fund and the President on behalf of the people of Seychelles fervently thanked Land Marine Ltd for coming forward to support the nation. “We are very grateful for your kind and generous donation, extended for the benefit of the country and this will definitely be put towards critical expenses as we forge ahead to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, reinforce protection of our population through the National COVID-19 Vaccine Campaign and resume all economic activities at the soonest,” said President Ramkalawan.

The meeting was an opportunity for Mr Savy and Mr Adam to brief the Head of State on status of their operation and various efforts being implemented to further support the economy and the country. Mr Savy commended Government for the various efforts being done to protect the lives of Seychellois citizens through the Vaccination programme whilst also focusing on resumption of economic activities hence why as an organization they felt it was their duty to respond to the call made by the President to support the COVID-19 Relief Fund.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Mr Adam also said they strongly believe as a responsible organization it was important for Land Marine Ltd to not only support workers in their organization who are predominantly Frontline workers but to also contribute for the benefit of the whole nation.
