"It is with profound sorrow that I have learned of the passing of Father Roger Decomamond, a revered and beloved figure of the Roman Catholic community and across the nation.

Father Roger was not only a dedicated servant of God but also a man of wisdom and deep moral conviction. Throughout his many years of priesthood, he ministered with humility, guided countless souls with faith and love, and remained a pillar of strength and counsel to many. His legacy is one marked by tireless service to the Church, his unwavering commitment to spiritual and community life, and his stern principles but yet powerful influence on generations of Seychellois, including myself at the Seychelles College. 

On behalf of the Government, the people of Seychelles, his past students, colleague teachers and in my personal capacity, I extend heartfelt condolences to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Port Victoria, Father Roger’s family, loved ones, and all those whose lives he touched. We give thanks for the life he lived and the example he leaves behind.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us all."
