The President of the Republic of Seychelles, Dr. Patrick Herminie receives a Chinese delegation led by His Excellency Mr. Gao Yunlong, Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Special Envoy and Vice Chairman of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, for a courtesy visit Monday morning.
President Herminie extended a warm welcome to His Excellency Mr. Gao Yunlong and delegation, expressing his appreciation for their presence during his recent inauguration ceremony. The President conveyed his honour at hosting such esteemed representatives of the People's Republic of China at this significant moment in Seychelles' history.
His Excellency Mr. Yunlong expressed his great honour of being part of the inauguration ceremony, conveying the warm wishes of Chinese President His excellency President Xi Jinping to President Herminie following his victory over the 2025 election. He shared his wish of prosperity for the people of Seychelles under President Herminie’s leadership.
Discussions between the two leaders centered on the longstanding friendship and robust partnership that has characterized relations between Seychelles and China. President Herminie conveyed his sincere greetings to His Excellency President Xi Jinping and expressed profound gratitude to the People's Republic of China for its steadfast support in advancing the socio-economic development of Seychelles.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations and exploring new avenues of cooperation across multiple sectors. The meeting underscored the mutual desire to strengthen ties that will yield tangible benefits for the peoples of both Seychelles and China.
