President of the Republic of Seychelles Receives Prime Minister of Mauritius for Courtesy Call

The President of the Republic of Seychelles, Dr. Patrick Herminie received the Honourable Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, for a courtesy call at State House on Monday morning.

Prime Minister Dr. Ramgoolam was in the country as an invited Guest of Honour for the inauguration ceremony of President Dr. Herminie. During the courtesy call, the Prime Minister extended his warm congratulations to President Dr. Herminie on his appointment to the highest office of the Republic.

The meeting was conducted in a spirit of fraternity, with both leaders expressing great satisfaction at the opportunity to engage in dialogue. Discussions centered on strengthening bilateral relations between the two Indian Ocean sister nations and advancing regional cooperation for mutual benefit.

The leaders explored opportunities for enhanced collaboration across several key sectors, including health, tourism, education, and capacity building. Both heads of state also emphasized the importance of joint efforts in combating drug trafficking and substance abuse, recognizing these as shared challenges requiring coordinated regional responses.

President Dr. Herminie and Prime Minister Dr. Ramgoolam reaffirmed their commitment to fostering closer ties that will enhance the welfare and prosperity of the people of Seychelles and Mauritius, underscoring the enduring bonds and excellent relations that have long characterized the partnership between the two nations.
