The President of the Republic of Seychelles, Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, has conveyed his heartfelt congratulations and expressed his unwavering pride to the Seychelles National Beach Soccer Team following their spirited performance against Japan in today’s FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2025 match hosted on home soil.

Despite the result not being in Seychelles’ favour, President Ramkalawan emphasised how proud he—and the entire nation—are of the team’s unwavering determination, courage, and sportsmanship throughout the match.

"You played with the heart. You gave it your all. And even in defeat, you have won the admiration and respect of the entire country," said the President this evening after meeting the team in the changing room.

He continued, “As a nation, we are beaming with pride. Our Paradise Boys have shown that Seychelles belongs on the global stage. You stood tall against one of the world’s best, and you did so with such passion and dignity. This is only the beginning.”

The President acknowledged the invaluable experience gained through this historic tournament and underscored the importance of building upon the momentum and lessons learned. He expressed confidence that this exposure will lay a stronger foundation for the continued development and future success of beach soccer in Seychelles.

"Let this be a stepping stone. There is much work ahead, but together—with commitment and the same fighting spirit—you will rise even higher and carry our flag with even greater glory."

President Ramkalawan reiterated the government’s full support for the team and the continued advancement of local sporting talent.
